Ascendant Pack – Life-Proof Modular Backpack

The Ascendant Pack is a rugged, highly adaptable backpack built to suit a wide range of adventures.

Besides the spacious 32l capacity, the modular attachment system allows the backpack to carry additional packs like a day bag, wet/dry bag and racket bag.

Designed by pro tennis player Jack Oswald, the Ascendant Pack stemmed from his own experiences working through dozens of different tennis racket bags, duffle bags and carry-ons.

“The start of The Ascendant Pack began with a desire to make life easier for athletes traveling on tour, but I soon became aware of the demand for a highly adaptable, customisable pack that went beyond my own needs, which is why we have spent over 2 years perfecting the design.”

Jack Oswald, CEO of Cancha

Features

An AquaGuard sealed roll-top means the pack can carry longer or bulkier items than traditional backpacks (while still keeping the rain out). An additional YKK AquaGuard zipper protects a padded laptop compartment.

Duraflex aluminum buckles, bonded polyurethane overlay film and abrasion resistant nylon fabric keep the bag as durable as possible.

The back is padded with EVA foam in a herringbone pattern, which not only displaces weight evenly, but also allows airflow (nobody likes a sweaty shirt under their backpack).

Modular attachements

The Ascendant Pack uses the MOLLE system to extend its carrying capacity. What’s MOLLE? It’s an acronym for modular, lightweight, load-carrying equipment and is used by armed-forces worldwide. Basically, it’s a way of attaching equipment to things like backpacks and vests.

The framework of attachment points on the front of the pack allows you to easily mount any MOLLE equipped gear, as well as their own add-on bags.

Depending on the perk level, the Ascendant Pack can be bundled with up to three different attachment bags including:

  • A wet-dry bag large enough to haul a pair of shoes and it has separate wet and dry compartments.
  • A medium day bag built to detach from the larger Ascendant Pack when traveling and has its own shoulder strap.
  • Being designed by a tennis pro means the pack wouldn’t be complete without an attachable racket bag, which hauls four rackets in two separate compartments.

Pricing

The Ascendant Pack can currently be pre-ordered for the super early bird price of $168. Modular attachments are available at higher perk levels. If fully funded, units are estimated to ship February 2020.
