polar seal gemm review

Gemm is a Personal Thermostat for any Season

Wearable tech has certainly seen a boom in the past few years, but most of it is… let’s say less than practical. Snapchat glasses and texting watches might have their place, but what if there was a gadget that could solve a much larger problem?

One of the very oldest problems…

Feeling too hot or too cold.

Yes, frigid chills and sweltering heat could be a thing of the past thanks to the Polar Seal Gemm.

Stay comfortable in any climate

Gemm uses thermoelectric technology to bring both instant heating or cooling at the touch of a button. No questionable chemicals or air circulation is required, which means the device can be worn under jackets and other gear.

A control module in the front adjusts the temperature and intensity. Gold-plated connector cables carry that signal to the neck module, which transfers the thermal energy along the back of the neck.

Wearers can choose between three cooling modes and three heating modes, which range from 50°F108°F.

The curved design of the neck module ensures maximum skin contact and helps radiate the temperature to the user’s body. As blood circulates, the cold or heat generated by the Gemm is spread throughout the rest of the body.

The device uses a rechargeable battery good for up to 7.5 hours of cooling or heating. Its compact size and magnetic connectors mean the Gemm can stowaway in a pocket or bag when not in use.

How to order the Polar Seal Gemm?

Polar Seal, the company behind Gemm, isn’t new to the business of keeping people warm. Their line of heated zip tops raised over $500k on Kickstarter in 2017 and has since expanded into other heated outerwear.

The Gemm is currently available to pre-order from their website at the founder edition price of $199 – half off future retail. Units are expected to ship November 2020.
