lanmodo vast pro night vision dash cam review

Lanmodo Vast Pro Night Vision System

The Lanmodo Vast Pro could be considered the next evolution of the dash cam thanks to some incredible optical technology. The device mounts on the windshield or dash of any vehicle and shows drivers an enhanced view of where they’re going.

Low light, rain, snow or other poor visibility is wiped away, showing a window to a clearer world as you drive.

How it works

The Lanmodo Vast Pro is built with a Sony CMOS sensor chip and 7-layer full glass to capture full color 1080p video. The onboard software wizardry adjusts the incoming feed to the peak of clarity and outputs it to the 8″ display.

The viewing distance on screen shows up to 984ft, far beyond what standard headlights can reach. That gives drivers nearly triple the time to react to obstacles.

An optional rear view camera can be connected to the Vast Pro and provides the same night vision clarity and wide angle view.

Power is provided by either the standard 12v outlet, or by connecting it to the OBD outlet with an included adapter.

See it, record it, avoid it

A general rule of nighttime driving is if you can’t see it, you can’t avoid it. By dialing up the brightness, drivers have a second view of the road ahead (and any dangers that might be lurking).

Wildlife, ice, road debris and other hazards become clearer on the Vast Pro’s screen.

The dash cam also records your trip as you drive and saves the video to a micro SD card.

In the event of an accident, a built-in G-sensor detects sudden collisions and saves the footage to memory. The videos are timestamped, meaning you can look back later and find out who dinged your bumper in that parking garage.

How to order

You can currently pre-order the Lanmodo Vast Pro night vision system from their Indiegogo campaign for the early bird price of $199.

The rearview camera add-on is available at the $248 level.
