T-Mation Customizable Titanium EDC Tool

When it comes to every day carry (EDC) tools, the best kind are the ones you forget you’re even carrying. Nobody wants to dedicate an entire pocket to a knife or multitool anymore, which is what makes the T-Mation so cool.

This super-compact titanium set has dimensions smaller than a pen, yet packs four distinct tools that can be mixed and matched to suit your needs.

The tools

Weighing in at just over 1oz, the T-Mation is small enough to attach to keychains, zipper pulls and more without adding any discernible weight. The four tools can tackle a range of real world problems and include the following segments:

Stainless steel blade – this little knife might be the size of a tooth, but it’s sharp enough to cut through an aluminum can. Its wedged shape can also be used to pry open cans and even serve as a phillips screwdriver in a pinch.

Flashlight – T-Mation’s campaign claims their tiny flashlight uses an 80lm LED bulb that can last up to 100,000 hours. If that wasn’t enough, it’s also waterproof.

Pen – Much like the ForeverPen we featured last April, the T-Mation uses a tungsten alloy tip to create a pen that never runs out of ink. If you were to draw a very long straight line, the tip of this pen could last for over 6 miles.

Pill storage – The final segment acts as a storage pod large enough for roughly one pill. That might seem a little less than practical, but keep in mind this segment also serves as the loop attachment, so any extra use is a plus.

Customizable combinations

Each segment on the T-Mation has it’s own male and female threading. This means you can customize the position of your tools to best serve your own uses. You could put the pen at the end, followed by the blade and flashlight, or switch them around if you think you might need quick access to a light.

How to order

The T-Mation can currently be pre-ordered from their Kickstarter campaign with a $45 pledge. That includes all 4 tools, a titanium O-ring and a stainless steel chain. There are only four days left in the campaign which is nearly 3x past its initial funding goal.

The company has already started production and states they’ll be able to ship to their first backers in December 2021.
