The Moon Pillow is Designed for a Sleep That’s Out of This World

The moon has served as an endless and wildly varied source of inspiration for millennia. From global religions, to film and music it’s hard to find a facet of humanity that hasn’t been influenced by its aura of mystique.

That list can now include a new brand of pillows inspired by the familiar shape and craters of the moon. They’re called Moon Pillows and they feature a cleverly ergonomic design that puts terrestrial pillows to shame.

The crater that cradles

While the real moon has over 5000 craters, the Moon Pillow has just one and it’s intended for a very special incoming object… the unique concave “crater” perfectly cradles your head while reducing strain on your neck and shoulders.

The pillow’s premium memory foam holds the skull in an ergonomic alignment with the spine, which helps relieve tension and offers even weight distribution. It’s the shape most of us try to make when we fluff our pillow, but without all the work!

A neck cutout along one edge prevents extra pressure along the cervical vertebrae and adds to the “phases of the moon” look.

Moon Pillow materials

The pillow’s compact and minimal form starts with a temperature regulating gel-grid base often seen in mattresses. On top of this is a layer of premium memory foam made in the USA.

For those of us who prefer a plusher, fluffier pillow, the Moon Pillow has an additional “soft center” pouch that can be set inside the crater. Filled with shredded foam, the pouch adds a layer of cushion that helps mimic a more traditional pillow without adding extra bulk.

How to back the Moon Pillow

Moon Pillow is currently raising funds for their debut project on Kickstarter. Backers can support the campaign with a $65 early bird pledge which includes one Moon Pillow, a pillow case and the soft center add on for free.

At the end of the campaign backers will be able to choose their preferred color (midnight blue or deep charcoal gray) and material (cotton/poly blend or mulberry silk).

If fully funded, rewards are estimated to deliver January 2023.
