[dropcap size=big]W[/dropcap]atches have hit crowdfunding platforms like a storm, but in the sea of smart-watches, sometimes good old fashioned mechanical time pieces are all you need.
Crafted by boutique watch maker Gallio Tempo, the Trident is their debut time piece from their base in Turin, Italy. The watch makes use of quality materials and a simple, clean design that doesn’t feel crowded or over-complicated. The defining characteristic of the Trident are the interchangeable stainless steel rings. Currently available in green, silver and orange, the rings mount to the watch and make it easy to color coordinate with your clothes or other accessories.
Gallio Tempo chose a range of established material makers for the components of the Trident. The Citizen Miyota 821a movement is considered to be one of the most reliable available.
The bands are from iwantastrap.com, which uses durable nylon sailcloth, and the face is produced with anti-scratch sapphire crystal.
The Trident is currently being funded on Kickstarter and can be pre-ordered for a super early bird pledge of $179.
