With the recent downturn in air travel, one in three Americans is planning on taking a road trip this summer. Whether you’re traveling for a few hours or a few weeks, the freedom of being able to bring whatever you want is one of the best parts of hitting the road.
It can also mean hours spent playing backseat-Jenga with all your gear and supplies.
The Freeway Longhaul is a new carryall duffel bag that makes it as easy as possible to bring as much as possible.
Haul it all
Built with road trippers in mind, the bag has two sizing options – 50 and 75 liters respectively. Both bags have a cavernous storage capacity, but the choice can also be described as car seat-sized or trunk-sized, depending on what works for you.
The larger duffel has three internal dividers, two divider pockets and eight external pockets. Both sizes utilize a full-view top opening, which makes it easy to see everything you’re carrying. Despite its large volume, the duffel folds down flat when not in use.
A bag this size can get pretty heavy when filled up. Thankfully, there are six D-rings that allow the padded shoulder strap to adjust to whatever position is most comfortable.
Besides road trips, the Freeway Longhaul makes shuttling gear easier for camping, boating, moving or even long days at Grandma’s house.

The Freeway Longhaul is the brainchild of Think Tank Photo, a California-based photography gear brand. The company has already produced hundreds of bags, backpacks and cases over the past 15 years, including a previous Kickstarter campaign – the rotation180º backpack.
Their latest bag reached its funding goal within the first 2 hours, rocketing to $90k in the first week.
The Freeway Longhaul can currently be pre-ordered on Kickstarter for $125, which reserves the 50-liter size. $150 gets you the larger 75-liter, $29 off its future retail price.
Units are estimated to deliver September 2020.
