If you’ve ever ridden an electric scooter, you’ll know the freedom that comes with zipping along in a standing position feeling the wind in your hair. With battery advancements and more accessible pricing, e-scooters have never been a more popular method of getting around urban areas.
The downside? You can only carry what fits in a backpack. Unlike bicycles, there’s never been a way to haul extra gear on a scooter.
Until the MIMO C1, a 2-in-1 transforming e-scooter with a built in cargo area.
Cargo carrying scooter
At the front of the MIMO C1 is a dedicated platform that can be fitted with a cargo rack or composite tray. This allows the scooter to carry a rider in the back and cargo in the front.
When it’s time to enter a building or maneuver a tighter space, the rider’s platform folds up, transforming the scooter into an electric hand truck.
MIMO’s campaign states the C1 has a carrying capacity of up to 264lbs for the rider, and ANOTHER 154lbs worth of cargo up front. The possibilities of what could be hauled are endless – groceries, luggage, deliveries, even dogs…
Performance specs
Below are the scooter’s performance numbers, which we can only imagine are without a full 418lb load.
- Top speed: 15.5 mph
- Range: 9.3 – 15.5 miles
- Motor: 350w
- Battery: 10.5Ah user changeable
How to order the MIMO C1 cargo e-scooter
If you’d like to get in on the transforming scooter action, you can currently pre-order the MIMO C1 on Indiegogo starting from a $1,281 pledge. Higher pledge levels include larger cargo racks.
